HANDING OVER OF AKUSE ROAD PROJECT TO THE CONTRACTOR

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly on 28th July, 2026 officially handed over the Akuse road project site to Beet West End Construction Ltd. in a ceremony attended by government officials, traditional authorities, Assembly staff, stakeholders, and members of the public. The event marked the commencement of a major road rehabilitation project aimed at improving transportation, enhancing economic activities, and promoting the overall development of Akuse and its surrounding communities.

 

In his welcome address, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) warmly welcomed all dignitaries and participants to the ceremony. He expressed appreciation for their presence and emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to supporting government initiatives that improve infrastructure and the quality of life of residents. The MCE noted that the road project would significantly enhance accessibility, facilitate trade, reduce travel time, and improve road safety for motorists and pedestrians.

The Chief of Akuse, on behalf of the traditional authorities and residents, expressed profound gratitude to the Government of Ghana for responding to the long-standing request for the rehabilitation of the road. He acknowledged the importance of the project to the socio-economic development of the area and appealed to community members to cooperate fully with the contractor to ensure the successful completion of the project.

 

The Member of Parliament (MP) also conveyed appreciation to the Government for listening to the concerns and appeals of the people of Akuse. He indicated that the road project demonstrates the government’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of the constituency and improving the welfare of the people. He encouraged residents to support the project by protecting the construction works and creating a peaceful environment for the contractor.

The Regional Minister Hon. Rita Akosua Awatey commended the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Roads and Highways, and the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly for making the project a reality. He assured the people that government remains committed not only to the rehabilitation of the Akuse main road but also to the improvement of inner roads within the township to enhance mobility and accelerate development. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate to ensure the timely and successful execution of the project.

The contractor, Beet West End Construction Ltd. expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in the company. He assured the gathering that work would commence promptly according to the agreed schedule and pledged to deliver a durable, high-quality road that meets the required engineering standards. He further assured the public that every effort would be made to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality workmanship and safety throughout the construction period.

 

The ceremony concluded with the official handing over of the project site to the contractor, signifying the commencement of the road works. Participants expressed optimism that the successful completion of the project would greatly improve transportation, stimulate economic growth, and contribute to the overall development of Akuse and the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
