REPORT ON THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND THANKSGIVING HELD AT THE LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

On Wednesday, 1st July 2026, the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly joined the nation in observing the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving at the Municipal Assembly Transparency Hall. The programme brought together government officials, religious leaders, assembly staff, and other stakeholders to seek God’s guidance, offer thanksgiving, and pray for the peace and development of Ghana.
The programme commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a session of praise and worship, creating an atmosphere of thanksgiving and reverence.
The Master of Ceremonies introduced the dignitaries present, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. John Attey Matey; the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Samuel Affadu; the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Samuel Kwasi Tettey; the Chairman for the Day, Apostle Samuel Kofi Nartey; Prophet Samuel T. Mandjorm; the Procurement Officer; Ps. Gabriel Yaw Teye, General Secretary; Rev. Francis Adamasi, Treasurer; and other distinguished guests.
The programme was held under the national theme, “Reset Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” with the sermon based on the sub-theme, “Come, Let Us Build the Wall of Jerusalem Together,” taken from Nehemiah 2:17–18.
Delivering the sermon, Apostle Samuel Kofi Nartey emphasized the example of Nehemiah, who first sought God’s direction through prayer, carefully planned his work, and then took decisive action to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He encouraged participants to emulate Nehemiah’s leadership by praying, planning, and working together to rebuild Ghana. He stressed that progress cannot be achieved when people stand alone, adding that the “walls” of the nation remain broken when citizens fail to unite. He urged Ghanaians not to imitate Sanballat and Tobiah, who opposed the rebuilding effort, but rather to become modern-day Nehemiahs who are committed to national development.
As part of the intercessory session, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. John Attey Matey, stood in the gap to offer prayers for His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the government, and all leaders of the nation. Special prayers were also offered for peace, unity, wisdom, and continued progress for Ghana.
The programme concluded successfully with prayers of thanksgiving and a renewed commitment by participants to uphold godly values, work together, and contribute meaningfully towards building a better Ghana.
