Empowering Youth through Entrepreneurship: UNDP Youth Empowerment Programme
On October 3rd and 4th, 2024, the National Youth Authority (NYA) collaborated with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to host a comprehensive youth training program focused on entrepreneurship for bead makers. The two-day event took place at the Lower Manya Municipal Assembly Conference Hall, bringing together 20 enthusiastic participants, comprising 13 females and 7 males.
In Empowering Youth through Entrepreneurship, we had a Comprehensive Training Modules.
The training program covered a wide range of topics, including:
Marketing Strategies: Participants learned effective marketing techniques to promote their bead-making businesses and reach a wider customer base.
Practical Skills: Hands-on training sessions enabled participants to refine their bead-making skills and develop new products.
Packaging and Branding: Experts shared insights on attractive packaging and branding methods to enhance product appeal.
Entrepreneurship: Participants gained knowledge on starting and managing successful businesses, including financial management and planning.
Cross-Banding: Training on cross-banding techniques to create unique and innovative designs.
Business Registration: Participants understood the benefits and process of registering their businesses.
Trading with AfCFTA: Guidelines on how to leverage the African Continental Free Trade Area to expand their businesses and access new markets.
This initiative aimed to equip young bead makers with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish and grow successful enterprises, contributing to the country’s economic growth and development. By empowering youth through entrepreneurship, the program seeks to foster innovation, creativity, and self-employment opportunities.
