Akuse Government Hospital among top Five Best in E/R

The Akuse Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has been ranked among the first 5 best performing hospitals out of the 16 existing Government Hospital in the Eastern Region.
This was disclosed during the 2021 performance Review of the hospital held on Monday 21st February, 2022 at the Church Auditorium of the St. Olivet Methodist Church, Akuse.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh applauded both the Management and staff of the hospital for the achievement despite the numerous challenges.
The Hon. MCE assured of Maximum commitment by the ruling NPP government to address the infrastructure and equipment needs of the committed staff to be able deliver on their mandate as professional health provides.
Dr. /Mrs. Edna O. Asamoa-Agyare, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital presenting the overview of the hospital’s performance in the year under review indicates that despite the positive performance indicators of the facility in both the Municipal and Regional context, She thinks there’s still more room for improvement.
She continued to applaud the management and staff of the hospital for given their all to deliver the best health care in the area despite the numerous infrastructure and equipment challenges facing the hospital.
She continue emphasized that almost 6 mouths of NHIS arrears is currently posting a serious operational challenge to the hospital since almost 86% of their clients access health care with the NHIS card and if situation continues, It will further affect the quality of health care delivery in facilities such as Akuse Government among others.
Dr. Edna O. Asamoa-Agyare used to opportunity to appeal to all the Stakeholders gathered especially the Traditional Leaders and the Municipal Chief Executive of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh to assist the capacities to construct a Modern Accident and Emergency Centers which is currently the priority project of the hospital.
She informed the gathering of advance plans of the Hospital’s Management to the Extent of having all necessary institutional approvals and drawing ready as they’re currently seeking of the financial strength to commence the project.
She further said when that modern project is constructed and completed it will add a major face-lift to the Akuse Government Hospital which is currently over 110 year and running in an outmoded structure which is causing several inconveniences to both staff and the clients of the hospital.
Dr. /Mrs. Edna O. Asamoa-Agyare, Medical superintendent of Akuse Government Hospital used the opportunity to expressed their heartiest appreciation to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu Constituency for the donation of modern incubator to the hospital which has been very instrumental in the establishment of the first ever Neonatal intensive Care Unity (NICU) of the hospital which have been every helpful to the as she appeal to other stakeholders to support the hospital.
She concluded by appealing to the Traditional Leaders present at the Performance Review Meeting of the hospital to fight the serious encroachment of their land which is a big headache to the Management of the hospital since if that trend continue, the hospital cannot expend in terms of infrastructure in the near future.
Nene Aseda Ahor, Akuse Matse who doubled as the PRO of the Manya Krobo Traditional Council in his remark as the leader of the traditional delegation at the Meeting applauded the Management and staff of the Hospital on the several successes chopped including the successful delivery of the fist conjoined twins by the hospital which is very historic within the Year under review.
Nene Asada Ahor assured the Management of Akuse Government Hospital of his readiness to fully help them reclaim their encroached lands which is for public good especially health sector expansion of the Akuse Government Hospital which is among the first 5 public hospital established in the country in 1911.
The Management of Akuse Government Hospital answered convincingly the answered the numerous questions that come from all stakeholders present at the Performance Review Meeting as they assured them that all their suggestions will be put into good use to improve upon their operation in the 2022 calendar year and beyond.

MCE takes delivery of Solar Power Panels for onward distribution to the middle belt.

The Chief Executive for Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, has on Wednesday 9th February,2022 took delivery of Solar Power Panel Systems for onward installation in the middle belt of the Municipality.
The beneficiary communities and institution are mainly in the middle belt of the municipality which are currently not connected onto the national grid of electricity.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh addressing a brief gathering of Management members, Hon. Assembly members, stakeholders and few staff gathered indicates the installation will cover mainly key institution in the middle belt especially Education and health facilities. He stated the key institution like School, CHPS Compounds, both health and Education Staff Quarters and also Community Charging centers to ease to frustration of long travels to charge most Mobile phone among other equipment will be prioritize.
The Hon. MCE continued to say that in the course of the installation process other facilities like Mosques, Churches and Residents of the key opinions leaders in the area will be considered since they play key roles in the administration of the community.
The Hon. MCE used the opportunity to expressed his hearties appreciation to H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for considering his Municipality in his special initiation which is intended to extend electricity to the Rural communities to help improve upon health and education delivery as well as improve upon the standard of living in the Rural communities.
The Hon. MCE with immediate effect gave rite of way to the Engineering team from Wilkins Engineering Ltd to commence work in the selected areas as he assured them of full administration support from the Management and staff of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly.

2021 ERCC END OF YEAR MONITORING TO LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council visited Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly  on the 9th February,2022 for monitoring exercise. The purpose of their visit is to assess our performance contract. They are to see the implementation of projects in line with their performances.

The team was lead by Mr. John Donkor (RBA), Mrs. Nancy Okwan (SHRM) and Mubarak Sualley (SDPO).

At the end of the day the Monitoring Exercise had a great success.

Eastern Regional Minister assured Konor of full investigation into Akro Sec Tech incident

Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, Eastern Regional Minister has assured His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite ll, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area and the good people of Lower Manya Krobo municipality of a full scale investigation to the incident that occurred at Akro Technical SHS which led to the death of one person.
The Minister on Wednesday 26th January, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Manya Krobo
Traditional area and the immediate family of the late Emmanuel Kpabitey Sackitey, the young man who was lynched by some students of Akro Technical SHS to commiserate with them.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong addressing Nene Sakite ll at his place acknowledged the key role he played in restoring calmness to the area after the unfortunate incident.
He further continued to express his hearties condolences to Nene Konor and the bereaved family as he assured them of a transparent and full scale investigation in the sad incident since that’s in the best direction of serving justice to the bereaved family.
Hon .Seth Kwame Acheampong appealed to Nene Sakite ll to continue giving active support to the Municipal Security Council under the able leadership of Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE of Lower Manya Krobo Municipality to be able to safeguard the peace in the area.
Nene Sakite ll, Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional area applauded the swift response by the Regional Minister and other stakeholders in the Region to the issues happening in his Traditional area.
Nene Sakite ll, furthermore advice the Hon. Regional Minister to monitor the progress of the investigation as he assured them since that’s the only way justice can be served to all affected parties in this unfortunate incident.
Nene Konor used the opportunity to call for continue clam in the area as he appeals to the aggrieved Youth to desist from using violence measure to redress this unfortunate but rather trust both the Traditional and Administrative leadership in the area as well as the Regional level who are working tirelessly to deliver justice at the end.
The Hon. Regional Minister and this visiting entourage made up of the Eastern Region Education Director, Mrs. Margaret Nsiah Asamoah and other stakeholders from the Eastern Region Coordinating Council visited the campus of Akro Technical SHS as they were brief by the Headmaster of the School, Mr. Charles Ossom Baah on what really happened at the late hours of Friday 21st January,2022 leading to the death of the Late Emmanuel Kpabitey Sackitey which led to a reprisal attacks from some aggrieved youth on the School community.
The Akro Technical SHS on Sunday 23rd January, 2022 has been closed down by the Eastern Regional Director of Education during his emergency visit the School as students are expected to return back to School on 7th February, 2022.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh assured the Hon. Regional Minister and his visiting entourage of this continuous commitment to engage all stakeholders in putting the right safety measures in place ahead of the reopening of the School as he used the opportunity to appeal to the aggrieved youth to remain calm as they working tirelessly to restore peace and other in the School.

Update on Agormanya Market Work progresses on 188 lockable store project

Work is progressing steadily on the 188 Lockable Market store Project at the Agormanya main market.
The MCE, Hon Simon Kweku Tetteh, expressed his satisfaction at the progress of work during a site meeting organized by the Lower Manya Krobo Assembly and the project consultant on Tuesday 18th January, 2022.
The Hon. MCE applauded the constructors but also entreated them to try and complete the project within the next coming months.
Hon. Simon Kwaku Tetteh speaking at the meeting used the opportunity to express his hearties appreciation to all the stakeholders gathered for their active participation in the monitoring of the project which has been very helpful.
The MCE in the statement reassure the construction companies of the continues support from the Municipal Assembly and the Mother Ministry which is the ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development to see the project completed soon.
The representative form the Construction Companies, Win-Meg ventures Ltd and Hawkrad Construction Ltd assured the meeting through their comprehensive work plan to complete soon. The meeting which includes a site monitoring visit had all the relevant stakeholders invited.
Mr. Selorm Tibu, Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Coordinating Director who led his team of technical officers and administrative form the Municipal Assembly also suggested to the constructors that in the best interest of completing this project for the benefit of the people if they are facing any challenges which may cause delays, they must not hesitate to call on them at the Municipal Assembly for prompt Assistance.
CSOs in the Municipal were duly represented by youth and Women’ Empowerment (YOWE).
All other project under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program ongoing in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality such as the Modern Multipurpose Business Advisory Centre Project at the Municipal Assembly and the Nuaso Newown, town road are all progressing steadily.

MCE Entreat Teacher to Take the CAP Training Workshops Serious

Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality appealed to Basic teachers in his Municipality to take 3-days Training Workshop on the Implementation of the Common Core Program (CCP) very serious.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh made this statement as he address Basic School Teachers on the first day of the 3-days training program which commenced in the early hours of Wednesday 12th January, 2022 at Makrosec.
The Hon. MEC in his statements applauded the Teachers, Headteachers and all the educational sector stakeholders in the Municipality not forgetting the solid administrative staff at the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Education Directorate under the able leaderships of Mr. Odoi Kweku Williams for their outstanding sacrifices made in the best interest of the pupils who are the future leaders of the Krobo Land and Ghana at large.
He continue to assured the gathering as the able representative of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, he will continue to work hard in collaboration with other stakholders to maintian and improve upon the gains achieved in the education sector in his first term in office which are very outstanding.
The Hon. MCE in his address reaffirmed his commitment to continue providing more infrastructure and logistics to the education sector in the area to improve upon the teaching and learning standard in the educational institutions in the Municipality.
He concluded by saying School like Makrosec, Kroba Girls SHS, Akuse Methodist Technical SHS and Akro Technical SHS are all receiving massive face-lift under the watch of the current government as well as several Classroom block for the basic schools as he is committed to do more in his quest to improve the education standard under his watch as he wished all the participant and the facilitator the best of stay.
Mr. Okai Kweku Williams, Lower manya Krobo Munipal Assembly Director used the opportunity to express his heartiest appreciation to Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh and ruling government for responding to the needs of the education sector in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
He continue to say that among the lot done for the education in the area the most appreciated is the construction of the modern office for the education Directorate which has save them from years of disgrace operation under rented apartment with complication as the Directorate is currently operating from their permanent office at Kpong.
The Education Director called on all the participants to take this days of intensive training every serious since it will go a long way to help them to smoothly implement the new education system.

Lower Manya Krobo held end of year Durbar, 2021

The Lower manya Krobo municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region on Thursday 22nd December, 2021 organised their last Staff Durbar and end of year get together to the end of the year.
The management of the municipal Assembly as part of activities of the Durbar celebrate 4 staff of the Assembly who retired within the calendar year.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh,MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality addressing the retirees on behave of Management and staff of the Assembly expressed their heartiest appreciation to them for giving their all during their stay at the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly which has seem the Assembly chopping several successes in their administrative and operational endeavors.
Hon. MCE continued to wish them a happy retirement with good health and heavenly blessings as he presented to them a Citation of Honour and other parcel on behalf of the Assembly to express their heartiest appreciation.
The four (4) retirees are Mrs. Naa Akuyea Ofosu, Mr. Thomas Yaw Dzebu, Madam Juliana Mensah Ahaibor and Madam Esther Akuvie. Hon. Simon kweku Tetteh applauded the management and staff of the Municipal Assembly for giving their best in the difficult year which has attracted some international recognitions and awards from international agencies like USIAD among others as well as seen the Assembly qualifying for several development grant like secondary Cities program which is giving the Agormanya Market a modern 188 Lockable stores, Modern Resource Center with conference hall for the Municipal Assembly and some road in the Municipality being developed.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh call for continuous unity, team work, peaceful coexistence among the management and staff since that’s the best way to achieve more glories in near future.
The Hon. MCE further congratulated the Lower manya Krobo Municipal Mofa department for winning the operational Mofa department in the Eastern Region for the year 2021 under review which has brought good name to the Municipal as he entreated then to continue to give their all.
Hon Simon Kweku Tetteh concluded his address by expressing his hearties appreciation to both management and staff for actively supporting him to deliver successfully on his first term mandate give him by H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, president of republic of Ghana which has led to his reappointment as he reaffirm his continue commitment to work closely with the management and staff of the Assembly to develop the municipality.
Mr. Selorm Kawku Tetteh Tebu, municipal Coordinating Director in his brief address appeals to the staff to be responsible civil Servant since that’s the only way the municipal can see massive development and effective administration as well as progress at all level.
Mr. Selorm Tebu assured the staff that they’re always welcome to his office just like any other management members office to listen to their grievance and suggestion for peaceful and professional resolutions in the best interest of peaceful team work which is the best way forward.
The Human resources Manager of the Municipal Assembly, Scholastica Abesiba Awine also advised the staff gathered of their duties which is the best way to see them through their working life for them achieve a peaceful and happy retirement oneday. Both the management and staff of the Assembly feast together after the successful calendar year as they wished each other the best of the Christmas season and a Prosperous New year in advance.

LOWER MANYA HOLDS LAST GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

The lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly on Friday 24th December,2021 held their last General Assembly meeting of the calendar year. This was presided over by Hon. Winifred Ayerh Kofi Zhando PM of the Assembly. Hon Simon Kweku Tetteh, the MCE for Municipality in his sessional address acknowledge the extraordinary efforts by the honorable members in this challenging year which saw the administration of the assembly chopping some successes. The Hon. MCE continue to appeal to Hon. Assembly Members and stakeholders present at the meeting to continue engaging the youth in their areas on the need to use dialogue in resolving grievances for peaceful coexistence.
