Mr. Samuel Kwesi Tettey continued to appeal to all, especially the parents of the dropped-out girls, to play very active roles in supporting their girls in school since this project and its implementors alone can’t sustain the girls without their support.
He concluded by thanking the 30-member municipal implementation task force for their outstanding work so far and assuring the donors that their support will be put to good use.
Mrs. Agnes Nanor, team leader of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Vetting Committee under the UNESCO-PRADA Project, in her brief address, cautioned parents to stop pushing responsibility on their unemployed girl child since that action has led a lot of them into situations, they’re not ready to handle, ending up forcing them out of school.
The team from the Ghana Education Service joined the team from the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal UNESCO -PRADA Project tasked to distribute the packages to some of the girls, made up of 15 young mothers and 85 needy girls who were selected from 35 out of the 38 junior high schools in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
