Sod-Cutting Ceremony for Educational and Water Projects in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality

On Tuesday, 22nd October 2025, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly, Hon. John Atteh Martey, together with key stakeholders, performed a sod-cutting ceremony for three significant development projects within the municipality.
The projects include the construction of a modern Kindergarten (KG) block at Kpong Quarters Basic School, a three-unit Junior High School (JHS) block with an attached computer laboratory at Agormanya R/C Basic School, and the provision of five boreholes across selected communities to improve access to potable water.
In his remarks, Hon. John Atteh Martey urged the contractors to uphold high standards of workmanship and ensure that the projects are executed with quality materials to guarantee durability and long-term benefits to the communities.
He further expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, the Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, and the Eastern Regional Minister for their continuous support and commitment toward the municipality’s development agenda.

LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOLDS SECOND ORDINARY SITTING

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly has held its Second Ordinary Sitting of the Second Session of the Eighth General Assembly at the Assembly Conference Hall on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
The sitting brought together Assembly Members, heads of department and other stakeholders to consider and approve Revised 2025 Composite Budget, the Medium Term Development Plan, and the 2026 Annual Action Plan. The Assembly also approved the formation of an Adhoc Committee to investigate and provide recommendations on the Agomanya Market Lockable Stores impasse.
In a brief address, Honorable John Atter Matey the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) disclosed that the Assembly had received its first and second quarter allocations of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF). He highlighted some developmental projects the Assembly has used portions of the said fund to do and stated that, the Assembly is committed to ensuring judicious use of its resources for the benefit of the people.
After extensive deliberations, necessary corrections, and inputs from members, all documents and proposals were unanimously adopted.
The Assembly expressed confidence that the decisions reached will help accelerate the Municipality’s growth and will improve the living standards of the residents.
