2021 DISTRICT RELC PLANNING

Lower Manya Krobo had a successful RELC Planning Session on Friday 25th June, 2021 at Kpong after Series of Zonal/operational events.

Title of Intervention = MAG Women Agriprenourship.
The Number Of Layer birds supplied is 40 each to 5 women farmers at Oborpah in Lower Manya Krobo.
Success Story:
Before Intervention
* Low income levels
* unsustainable livelihood
* Poor nutrition
* High level of disease & mortality of local birds reared due to inadequate production techniques etc

After Intervention:
* Eggs collected every day & sold as a source of income
* Family eats some eggs to improve nutrition
* Better education & health for family
* Business & record keeping skills of Beneficiaries improved as they keep Comprehensive records on birds
* Financial independence of family not to always depend on others.

CUTTING-SOD OF BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTRE AND CANAN-KPANYAS STREET

SOD-CUTTING FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTRE AND BUTIMINOUS SURFACING OF CANNAN-KANYAS ROAD IN LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Eastern Regional Minister Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong on Friday 14th May, 2021 joined the Municipal Chief Executive for the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh and other stakeholders to break grounds for the construction of an ultra-modern business advisory center at the premises of the Municipal Assembly and bituminous surfacing of Cannan-kpanyas roads.

In a brief speech by the Municipal Chief Executive, He thanked the Government for the numerous developmental projects that the entire Krobo land has benefited from and appeal to the Government to do more.

He also expressed his sincere appreciation to other stakeholders present at the program for their immense contribution towards the development of the Assembly. He was grateful to the Hon. Minister for leaving his busy schedules at the regional level to be part of the sod-cutting ceremony. Hon. Tetteh said the project is funded by the World Bank through the Local Government and Rural Development Ministry. He ended by appealing to the general public to offer the needed support to the contractor and his workers in order to see the successful completion of the project within the stipulated time.

Addressing dignitaries and other people present at the program the Eastern regional Minister Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong thanked the chiefs and people of Lower Manya Krobo for their support to the Akuffo Addo led administration and assure them of their fair share of the National cake. He said it is the firm belief of the Government that it partnership with the World Bank for ensuring that the awesome development of Ghana is exercise expeditiously. He also extended his profound gratitude to the Traditional Authority and the entire Krobo enclave for their patience all this while. He assured the chiefs of more projects since his core mandate as Minister in charge of the Eastern Region is to see to it that it develops.

The project manager for Soman Trust Consultancy said the first division of the project is a construction of an Ultra-modern Business Resource Center which comprises of three hundred (300) seated capacity Auditorium, fifteen (15) Unit Offices, Eleven (11) Unit Guest-rooms, kitchen and a cafeteria.

He said the actual cost of the project will is Thirty-two Million Ghana cedis (Ghc 32,000,000). He concluded by saying the 1.2 km Cannan- kpayas roads which would be constructed by Mamangia Company Limited would cost Two(2) Million, Five Hundred and Seven Thousand and Thirty-five cedis, Thirty-five pesewas and is expected to be completed within nine (9) months.

Speaking on behalf of the konor of Manya Klo Nene Adjesu III congratulated Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong on his new job as the Minister responsible for the Eastern region and assured him of their maximum support and co-operation. He also expressed his appreciation to Government and appeal to him to use his office to ensure all ongoing project are completed soon.
