VETERINARY QUARANTINE

VETERINARY SERVICES is involved in surveillance of scheduled diseases, clinical treatment of animals and general treatment of animal diseases. It has two offices in the Municipality (Nuaso, Akuse) in the lower Manya Municipality.

WATER AND SANITATION

The MCE of LMKMA completed WC facility of Adjikpo Yokunya. He said Water and Sanitation is one of the major priorities of my Administration. With regards to the sanitation aspect, we have worked to improve both liquid and solid waste management in the Municipality.16 seater WC washroom facility has been completed and handed over to the Adjikpo Yokunya community.

S0CIAL WELFARE

A programme was held at the Assembly where items Were continuously procured equipment and tools ranging from Sewing Machines (both Manual and Electronic), Hairdryers, refrigerators, Assorted Provisions, Plastic Chairs, Ice Chest, containers, etc were presented to the PWDS for them to engage in business and economic ventures in order to fend for themselves. I am happy to announce that about 159 people living with disability have been supported

FARMER’S DAY

The Department of Agriculture in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has commemorate the 36th National Farmers Day at Buenyonye M/A Primary School Park on Friday 6th November 2020.The theme for the celebration is “Agribusiness Development under COVID-19

Opportunities and Challenges”. The celebration which is usually held on every
first Friday in December has been rescheduled to November 6th due to
the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections on 7th
December 2020

PLANTING FOR FOOD AND JOBS

The Assembly has through the Department of Agriculture received inputs, chemicals and fertilizers for distribution to interested farmers in the Municipality at subsidized prices in fulfillment of the promise of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. In recent times, the inputs have been giving to Retail Shops for resale to farmers at subsidized prices. Some of the accredited Retail Shops in the Municipality include Abians and ultimate in Akuse, prayer is the key and farm growers in Agormanya, connoben farms in Kpong etc. in all about 2500 farmers have benefited from the programme and have been supplied with quantities of the inputs at subsidized cost
