LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY INTERIM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (IMC) MEETING-21ST NOVEMBER 2023.

On November 21, 2023, the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly convened an Interim Management Committee meeting at the Assembly Hall, with Hon Emmanuel Siakwa presiding as the chair. The committee, comprised of eight members, acknowledged and accepted the minutes of the previous meeting held on August 31, 2023.

The meeting addressed several critical issues, with a primary focus on budget composite and revenue planning. The Municipal Chief Director (MCD) proposed concentrating efforts on major properties such as schools, hotels, and banks to achieve targeted revenue. Additionally, IMC members suggested prioritizing Business Operating Permits (BOPs) and vehicle taxes to augment revenue.

Discussions also centered around revising the Annual Action Plan, with plans for implementation starting by January 1, 2024. Concerns were raised about the dusty condition of roads, particularly from Nuaso to Kpong. The IMC members recommended engaging the Ghana Fire Service to provide water for road watering to minimize dust.

Addressing the issue of lockable stores, plans for the 188 lockable stores were set to be operational by January 1, 2024. The IMC urged the Assembly to expedite work completion at the market.

During the meeting, the Chairman encouraged effective discussions on two key considerations:
1. Consideration of the 2024 Annual Action Plan
2. Consideration of the 2024 Composite Budget

In conclusion, the Lower Manya Municipal Assembly’s Interim Management Committee meeting on November 21, 2023, delineated key strategies for revenue enhancement and approved the Revised Annual Action Plan and the revised Composite Budget.
