Six Trainers Receive Equipment Under National Youth Authority Apprenticeship Programme in Lower Manya Krobo
Six (6) trainers under the National Youth Authority Apprenticeship Programme in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality have received training equipment to enhance effective skills development and practical instruction.
The presentation ceremony was held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, marking the official rollout of the first batch of the programme in the municipality. The initiative currently supports six (6) trainers and thirty (30) trainees and is aimed at equipping young people with employable and self-reliant skills to help curb youth unemployment.
The Municipal Chief Executive for the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, John Atteh Matey, together with the Eastern Regional Coordinator of the National Apprenticeship Programme, Emmanuel Asente Ofori, presented the equipment to the beneficiaries.
Five (5) dressmaking trainers each received:
• Five (5) Butterfly hand sewing machines
• One (1) industrial sewing machine set
• One (1) neating machine set
• Additional accessories
Each complete set is valued at over GHS 14,000.00.
In addition, one (1) hairdressing trainer received a professional hair dryer and other essential tools to support practical training delivery.
In his brief remarks, Hon. John Atteh Matey urged the people of Manya Krobo to take full advantage of the programme, emphasizing government’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment through skills development and sustainable job creation initiatives.
