LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY AWARDED CONTRACT FOR RESURFACING OF NUASO – KPONG QUARTERS JUNCTION ROAD

The commencement meeting between Bans Consult (consulting firm), Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly (Clint) and BEA-NEWT the (Contractors) for the resurfacing of the above mention road was held on 25th April, 2024 at the Assembly Conference Hall.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh in his briefed speech welcomed the participant for making their time to attend the meeting. Hon. Tetteh said, he will be very greatful if the parties involve in executing the project will play their role well to enable the project meet its dead line. He pleaded with the Contractor to do quality work and asked him to consider the local content especially women when he is recruiting people for the job.
Mr. Festus Odamtey the Consultant in his statement outlined a number of things expecting from the Contractor. He said the Consultant serves as middleman between the Clint and the Contractor and for this reason any communication from the Clint to the Contractor should pass through the Consultant and vice versa. Commenting on safety issues engineer Odamtey said the Contractor should do well to provide everything the workers will need to save their life during their period of stay. Making a statement on a grievances redress related issues, the Consultant stated that three is the need to form grievances redress Committee to take care of disputes that may arise during the cause of the work.
The scope of work according to the Consultant are concrete work, earth work, pavement work and sealing work.
The project which has Six month duration start from 26th April, 2024 and end on 26th October, 2024.
Present at the meeting were the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, the team from Bans Consult Limited and other stakeholders.

STAFF ENGAGEMENT ON THE FIRST QUARTER CAPACITY BUILDING AND THE CLIMAX OF THE HERITAGE MONTH

As part of the activities of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly to enhance the skills and knowledge of its staff a one day capacity building was organized by the Assembly for the staff. The training which came on at the conference Hall of the Assembly on 27th March, 2024 was on topic ‘Time Management and Organizational Skills.’
The day was also set aside to commemorate Ghana Month. Staff of the Assembly were in their traditional dress and a staple foods was prepared for the staff present to enjoy.
The Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Selorm Tibu on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh welcome the staff present and thanked them for their commitment and dedication and advised them on the need to show good attitude towards work for productivity. He took the opportunity to outline some projects funded by Ghana Secondary Support program in the Municipality.
Engineer Amo Duodu the resource person of the program and a staff of Volta River Authority (VRA) in his presentation said Time is the techniques designed to enable one to do more effective work in less time.
He also said that ‘time management is a skill’ and that time wasting is linked to lack of discipline. He therefore encouraged the staff and everyone present to practice time management for effective and efficient productivity.
The program was climaxed with some indoor games such as ludo, cards among others. Local dishes such as plantain with kontomire, cocoyam with kontomire, kokonte with groundnut soup, banku with groundnut soup amongst others were enjoyed. Local drinks such as Sobolo, Millet drink, rice drink, palm wine amongst others were also enjoyed. The local dishes were prepared to climax the Ghana month.
