INTERIM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (IMC) MEETING

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly after being successfully inaugurated, held its first meeting on 18th July, 2023 at the Conference Hall of the Assembly.

Hon. Simom Kweku Tetteh the Municipal Chief Executive in his introductory remarks thanked the gathering for making time to be part of the meeting. He said the meeting is considered to be one of the Assembly meetings and hence asked the participant to pay attention to the proceedings.

 

Hon. Philip Tetteh Batsa who chaired the meeting in the absence of the chairman Hon. Emmanuel Siakwa Nuertey also reiterated that the participant should pay attention and contribute to the discussion since it boarded on the development of the Municipality. He proceeded and asked the heads of the department present to brief the house on the mid-year activities they had carried out for the year 2023.

Presenting on health, Dr. Avorka, the Municipal health director said, his outfit has organized Five (5) vaccination campaigns for covid-19. He said out of Four Thousand Three Hundred and Seventeen (4,317) people tested for HIV, Three Hundred and one (301) people tested positive. Mr. Avorka said Four Thousand Four Hundred and Fourteen (4,414) people were screened for Tuberculosis (TB) and they were able to detect Seventy-Nine (79) active cases. Eighteen (18) people were also found contracted Yaws at Tsledorm a village in the Middle belt of the Municipality

Accounting for the finance of the Assembly, the Municipal finance officer Mr. Ernest Agroh briefed the participant on both the revenue and the expenditure of the Assembly.

He said most of the Assembly revenue projections were not met. He advised that every one of the Assembly should help in mobilizing revenue for the Assembly.

 

The Municipal Director of Education Mr. Samuel Kwesi Tettey in his presentation mentioned a number of activities they had to carry out in the mid-year. Mr. Tettey said they distributed laptops for KG Teachers to facilitate teaching and learning, observed my first day at school, and campaigned on Operation Go Back to School for girls who were pregnant and as a result could not continue with their education just to mention a few.

Bringing the program to an end, the chairman in his closing remarks advised all the heads of department to work hard to meet their target set for the year so that the Assembly will achieve its goal.
