Revenue Mobilisation Exercise at Akuse Market

After more than a decade of unsuccessful attempts by the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly to mobilise revenue from Akuse Township, a significant breakthrough has been achieved.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, the Municipal Management, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. John Atteh Matey, successfully carried out its first revenue mobilisation exercise at the Akuse Market in over ten years. This achievement followed a series of extensive consultations and engagements with key stakeholders within the township.

The exercise was led by the Hon. MCE and supported by Management and staff of the Assembly, as well as Hon. Assembly Members representing the Akuse Township. The revenue mobilisation exercise was conducted smoothly, with traders demonstrating a high level of cooperation and understanding throughout the process.

Speaking on behalf of the Assembly and all stakeholders involved, Hon. John Atteh Matey expressed his sincere appreciation to the traders for their support and cooperation. He noted that the successful exercise marks the beginning of a renewed and positive administrative relationship between the Akuse Township and the Municipal Assembly.

According to the MCE, the renewed collaboration will not only enhance governance and improve revenue generation for the Assembly but will also contribute significantly to the sustained development of the Akuse Market as a thriving commercial centre. He further emphasized that the initiative will support the broader socio-economic growth and development of Akuse Township.
