2024 ANNUAL BUDGET PERFORMANCE REVIEW OF PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (PFM) PERFORMANCE

The Budget unit of the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly on 6th February, 2025 organised a Town Hall meeting on the subject ‘2024 ANNUAL BUDGET PERFORMANCE REVIEW OF PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (PFM) PERFORMANCE AND SENSITIZATION OF 2025 FEE-FIXING RESOLUTION’ at the Conference Hall of the Assembly.  

 

The 2024 Annual Budget Performance Review in line with Public Financial Management is a detailed assessment of how the Assembly has executed its budget over the fiscal year. It evaluates revenue generation, expenditure, and the efficiency of financial management systems in the delivering planned services and projects. The goal of this review is to ensure transparency and accountability while identifying areas for improvement in future budgeting and public service delivery.

Madam Rita Attikumah, Assistant Budget Officer highlighted on the projected budget and the Actual Revenue received for both Internally Generated funds (IGF), Transfers from the central government, Donor funding and other external sources. 

According to her, the budgeted amount for the fiscal year stood at Fifty Million Four Hundred and Sixty-Four Thousand Three Hundred and Seventy Cedis Fifty-Six pesewas (GHC 50,464,370.56) and out of this Thirty-Five Million One Hundred and Ninety-Six Thousand Five Hundred and Forty-Seven Cedis Ninety pesewas( GHC 35,196,547.90 )was received.  She also provided detailed analysis on how the funds were spent, the achievements in the various sectors (such as infrastructure, Health, and Education), and challenges faced in financial management.

Madam Rita in the course of the presentation also provided details on the Fee-Fixing Resolution for the year 2025. She also outlines the proposed projects for the year 2025, being the resurfacing of major roads within the Municipality, tackling of the various uncompleted projects, provision of furniture, amongst others.

Several suggestions, recommendations, and questions were raised by the stakeholders for the betterment of the Municipality.

 The successful implementation of these projects will contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the Municipality. The Assembly remains committed to transparency, efficiency, and collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve sustainable growth.

In attendance were the Municipal Coordinating Director, heads of the various departments, and other stakeholders.
