LOWER MANYA KROBO MUNICIPAL EDUCATION DIRECTORATE AWARD TEACHERS

Lower Manya Krobo Education Directorate, under the leadership of Municipal Education Director Mr. Samuel K. Tettey and other stakeholders on 23rd July, 2024 celebrated Teacher Prize Awards Giving Day at the Oklemekuku Park (Laasi).

 

 Address the gathering Mr. Tettey emphasized on the theme “Anything worth doing is worth appreciating” and highlighted the importance of recognizing and awarding outstanding teachers in fostering a culture of excellence in education. The awards covered various categories including Best KG Teacher, Best Primary Teacher, Best JHS Teacher, Best SHS Teacher, categories for non-teaching staff and other special categories.

He further stated that, Education has been the cornerstone in all areas or sectors in our lives and teachers play a pivotal role. Hence, awarding the dedication, innovation, and impact of exceptional both teachers and non-teaching staff is essential to foster a culture of excellence in education.

The Outstanding Teacher Awards celebrated today highlighted the extraordinary efforts of teachers who go above and beyond normal academic work to inspire their students, implement innovative teaching practices, and contribute positively to their communities, said the Municipal education director.  

He continued and pointed it out that recognizing these exemplary teachers seeks not to only reward their hard work but also set as standard of excellence that motivates and encourages others in the field. He acknowledged the hard-working Planning Committee for putting up such a yeoman’s job.

The Guest Speaker, Professor Samuel Amponsah also stated in his address that Education is a powerful tool that can transform individuals, communities and the nation. He acknowledged the fact that the output of any machine becomes very poor if not lubricated. In order for the teachers to go extra miles to improve their results, they also need to be motivated because ‘A motivated Staff is the backbone of being successful of the nation’.   He also cited that, the gathering was not only to give physical artefact awards to the winners but also to show their love to them for making their children and everyone professionals.  

Bringing his statement to an end Professor Amponsah said, the comprehensive approach, for ensuring the outstanding teacher Awards become prestigious and to also serve as a significant step towards valuing and promoting high-quality education within the Municipality. 

 A very dedicated, hardworking and versatile Mr Hayford Kabutey from Akuse Methodist Senior High Technical School adjudged the overall Best Teacher in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

The event saw attendance of various dignitaries, teacher unions, media, community representatives and other stakeholders marking a significant step towards enhancing the educational standards in the municipality.
