MCE PAYS COURTESY CALL ON AKOSOMBO DIVISIONAL POLICE COMMANDER

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Hon. John Atteh Matey, as part of his active duty engagements, paid a surprise courtesy call on the Akosombo Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Doris Grant, at her office in Akosombo.

The unannounced visit, though brief, was marked by fruitful discussions centered on the need to deepen collaboration between the Municipal Assembly and the Police Service in promoting peace, security, and law and order within the municipality and the broader Akosombo Police Division in the Eastern Region.

During the interaction, Hon. Matey emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with the Police Command to ensure the safety of residents, particularly in the face of emerging security challenges. He underscored the fact that peace and stability remain essential ingredients for social and economic development, and therefore pledged the continuous support of the Assembly toward policing efforts in the municipality.

Chief Superintendent Doris Grant, on her part, warmly welcomed the MCE and expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the thoughtful visit. She noted that the gesture was not only an honour to her office but also a sign of the strong partnership between the Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Police Service. She assured Hon. Matey of her unwavering commitment and that of her officers to upholding law and order, safeguarding lives, and protecting property across their operational jurisdiction.

Both leaders concluded their discussions with a shared resolve to intensify collaboration through joint strategies and community-centered initiatives aimed at preventing crime and enhancing public safety.

The visit forms part of Hon. John Atteh Matey’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional relationships and ensure that governance at the local level continues to be underpinned by effective stakeholder engagement and cooperation.
