The Agric Department of lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Ghana Rice Production Improvement Project (GRIP) under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The project is situated in Lower Manya Krobo District, specifically in the Okwenya community.
The farm demonstration plot involves the Okwenya Rice Farmers Association, with rice varieties identified as AGRA and Legon 1. Transplanting on the plot was carried out on 16th June 2025.
The project is funded by JICA-GRIP and supported by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), the Eastern Regional Agriculture Department (RAD), and the Lower Manya Krobo District Agriculture Department.
This initiative demonstrates efforts to enhance rice production in Ghana through improved farming practices, capacity building, and collaborative partnerships between international donors and local institutions.
