Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly’s General Assembly Meeting

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly’s General Assembly meeting on 7th November, 2025, provided a platform for stakeholders to come together and discuss key development issues and progress in the Municipality. The meeting also highlighted notable achievement and challenges and set the stage for future development initiatives.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) John Atter Martey addressed the assembly, highlighted key events that occurred in the past months within the Municipality, He mentioned the commissioning of Kyeredorm Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound, commissioning of Fish Market at Kpong constructed with funding support from Volta River Authority (VRA), and acquisition of litigation-free land for the construction of a modern 24-hour economy market at Kpong. The MCE also mentioned the donation of motorbikes to the health directorate, the Member of Parliament’s support to needy first-year SHS students, and a petition he received regarding the abandoned Somanya to Kpong road.
Hon. John Atter Martey stated the outcome of the Assembly’s Depart assessment, noting that 21 out of 33 Assemblies in the region passed the assessment including Lower Manya, as a result an amount of about Ten million (GH₵10,000000.00) Ghana Cedis was allocated to support development in the Municipality.
The MCE presented recommendations from the Executive Committee of the Assembly for consideration, including allowances review for Assembly sitting, assistance in roofing the Akuse Islamic school, and utilization of DRIP machines to improve deplorable roads in Akuse electoral areas just to mention a few.
In his closing remarks, Hon. John Atter Martey noted that the Assembly has made some notable achievement, however there is still much work to be done to address the challenges facing the Municipality. He assured all stakeholders that the Assembly’s commitment to transparency and accountability will be crucial in ensuring that its plans are implemented effectively for the benefit of the people of Lower Manya Krobo.
