MCE AND MUNICIPAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR ENCOURAGE WASSCE CANDIDATES IN LOWER MANYA KROBO

On 25th August,2025, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. John Atteh Matey, in the company of the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Samuel Kwesi Tettey, undertook an important visit to selected senior high schools within the municipality where the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is being written.

The schools visited included Akro Senior High Technical School, Krobo Girls Senior High School, Makro Secondary Technical School (MAKROSEC), and St. Anna’s Technical School. These institutions are among the major examination centers in the municipality hosting hundreds of candidates for the 2025 WASSCE.

The purpose of the visit was to interact with the students, provide words of motivation, and assure them of the Assembly’s and the Education Directorate’s support throughout the examination period. At each center, Hon. Matey and Mr. Tettey engaged with the candidates, encouraging them to remain confident, disciplined, and focused on their papers.

They also reminded the students that the WASSCE represents a major step toward their academic and professional future, hence the need for seriousness, integrity, and determination.

Hon. Matey, in his remarks, stressed that the Municipal Assembly places great priority on education as a tool for human resource development and community transformation. He assured the candidates that their hard work and perseverance would not only bring honor to their families but also to the entire municipality. He urged them to avoid any form of examination malpractice and to rely solely on their preparation and God-given abilities.

The Municipal Education Director, Mr. Tettey, on his part, encouraged the students to keep calm during the examination period, manage their time wisely, and maintain discipline in and outside the examination halls.

He emphasized the Directorate’s commitment to ensuring that the examinations proceed smoothly without interruptions.

The visit was warmly received by school authorities and students alike, with many candidates expressing appreciation for the encouragement and moral support from the MCE and the Education Directorate. Heads of the schools commended the gesture, noting that such engagements help reduce the anxiety and pressure students often face during external examinations.

This exercise forms part of the Assembly’s broader strategy of promoting quality education and ensuring that students in the municipality are given the moral and psychological support they need to excel in national and international examinations.
